Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) today announced the signing of an exclusive world-wide publishing agreement with platinum break-through artist Justin Bieber. The publishing deal encompasses all of Bieber’s catalogue, including his debut album My World (Island) and his upcoming album My World (Part II).
Bieber’s debut album, My World, was released in November 2009 and has already gone Platinum in the U.S. My World has appeared in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and has reached No. 1 on the Pop iTunes chart since its launch. The album has seven tracks – all of which have made an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100.
“One Time” was Bieber’s first single released off My World. Fifteen-year-old Justin Bieber began his music career three years ago by posting videos of himself singing on YouTube. Bieber garnered over 10,000,000 online views based on word of mouth alone.
Bieber’s next album, My World (Part II), will be released in March. The lead single, “Baby” (co-written and produced by Tricky Stewart) has already reached No. 1 on the Pop iTunes chart.
