Fans of all things comics related have Comic-Con and now fans of pop music and culture will have Pop-Con to satiate their thirst for anything and everything pop. Plus, the convention seems to have found its perfect hosts: teen sensation Justin Bieber and Disney princess Selena Gomez. The duo (Selena will be with her band, The Scene) will each perform on February 20 at Pop-Con, which is being held at Nassau Coliseum in New York.
According to the event’s website, the convention “aims to be the pop event with the stars the kids want to see.” The day will feature other young actors that tweens and teens love as well as performances and industry insiders to help aspiring performers to get advice on how to break into the industry. Products will also be on display in the “Culture Mall.”
Other performers include Push Play, Mercy Mercedes, Care Bears on Fire, Nat and Alex Wolff of the Naked Brothers Band and Sean Kingston. More performers and scheduled appearances are set to be announced as the event draws nearer. Tickets range anywhere from $35 to $750 depending on the package purchased.
So, are you excited by a convention dedicated to the world of pop? Do you think it’s time for something like this? Will you be going?
