My 10 year old daughter wants to date Justin Bieber?

We are going to a concert in Febuary and she is convinced she will be able to date and marry him! How can I gently tell her that it won't be possible?

Ah she's just a boy crazy kid with a crush, let her be... She'll grow out of it. I think we all went through a stage like that

It's okay.He's the new teen star that all the girls are into.She's only 10 and she's not the only one that thinks she'll marry him, there's plenty of other little girls who think that too.It's just a crush, let her be it's nothing big.

I created Justin bieber fan site, and I get like 2,000 girls visiting my site everyday. We have discussion forum and live chat and stuff, its crazy to see girls fighting each other on chatroom for Justin Bieber. They are just too obsessed. I don't think you can do anything about it. Don't ever stop her to like Justin Bieber. It will make her very very sad, and its not good. Justin is like her inspiration. I've been there. She will realize soon. She will be fine, at times. Why not just tell her the way of the world. Justin is a performer, it is his job. We buy tickets to go see him perform. Tickets do not give us the opportunity to meet him or get to know him only watch him. Ten years old is waaay to early to be thinking about dating anyone. Why would you encourage her in these thoughts? Also tell her she can date when she is 16 and not before and she will get married after she has gone to college and has a career. That's it. Don't give her a long list of possibilities, you be doing her a disservice letting her think day dreams are real. You can buy her his music or a picture but don't encourage this thinking. You are the parent and need to set down rules for her to live by. She needs and wants these rules so that she can count on certain goals in her life.

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters Don't crush the poor girl. Every girl goes through a phase like that. It's far from unusual. She will realize in time she has adopted a (nearly) impossible dream. All that telling her would do would be to quicken and prolong the depression. Let her get over it HER way, on HER own time.
